The Dent Guy Visits Nassau BOCES to Train the Next Generation of Auto Collision Techs
This past November, The Dent Guy's Junior and Omar were invited to Nassau BOCES in Westbury, NY, as guest speakers for the school's Auto Collision program. Fourteen students got a front-row seat to a trade most collision programs never get to cover: paintless dent repair (PDR).
Inside the Collision Garage
The visit kicked off inside Nassau BOCES' collision garage with a live demonstration, showing students exactly how paintless dent repair works from start to finish. Omar walked the group through how a dent actually forms and then broke down, step-by-step, how he gets it back out.
Students crowded around the Dent Guy Tesla to check out the tools and setup up close, and Omar gave them a look at the business side of the job too, from the day-to-day to the social media to what running a PDR business actually looks like behind the scenes.
Hands-On Learning
After the demo and a talk about his journey building the business, Omar gave one of the students the chance to make a dent and then remove it himself, with Junior and Omar coaching him through the process in real time.
The moment carried extra weight for the team: Junior was trained by Omar and is now a working partner in the business, so watching him help teach the next generation of techs was, in his words, a full-circle moment.
More Than Just a Visit
For Omar and Junior, the day wasn't just about showing off a skill. It was about giving back, sharing knowledge, and inspiring the future of the collision industry. The visit wrapped up with Dent Guy shirts for the students and a group photo around the car.
